16th September was designated by the United Nations General Assembly as the International Day for the Preservation of the Ozone Layer. It is also known as World Ozone Day. Many National and International activities take place to protect ozone, and create awareness about importance of ozone on this day.
Despite Arizona's remarkable growth in recent years, we have met the current federal health standards for ozone pollution and the Environmental Protection Agency recently approved our dust control plan.
